FAQ: Northeast Allergy at MIT Health

How do I schedule an allergy appointment?

You can schedule an appointment with Northeast Allergy by calling 978-537-4805. Your appointment notifications and reminders will come from Northeast Allergy, not MIT Health, and you will not see your allergy appointments listed in HealthElife.

Will my insurance cover Northeast Allergy appointments?

In most cases, yes. Northeast Allergy visits at MIT Health are charged as if you were seeing an off-campus, in-network doctor. If you are on the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), your visits will apply to your deductible and will be charged at a rate of $25 per visit after your deductible has been met. If you are an employee on PPO+, you will pay the in-network specialty copay of $30. If you are on HDHP or a different insurance plan, check your policy to see how in-network specialty visits are charged.

If you are on non-MIT-sponsored insurance (such as your parents' or guardians' plan), that insurance company's rules will apply.

What happens if I need lab work as part of my Northeast Allergy visit?

Northeast Allergy can send orders to the Quest Diagnostics location on the first floor of MIT Health. Like all laboratory visits, your test will be subject to your insurance plan’s in-network deductibles and copayments. Check your insurance policy documents for more information.

How do I access my allergy medical records?

Records of any allergy visits you had before July 1, 2026, will remain available in HealthELife. Records of all visits after that date will be maintained by Northeast Allergy. Contact Northeast Allergy at 978-537-4805 to learn more.

What happens to my allergy serums if they were prescribed by MIT Health?

Northeast Allergy has access to your MIT Health allergy records and serums.

Is Northeast Allergy part of MIT Health?

No. Northeast Allergy is a specialized service that manages the on-site allergy practice located in E23. Patients who use the service have expanded access to the full Northeast Allergy network of clinicians and services.

Although these services are located at MIT Health and may coordinate with MIT Health clinicians in areas such as Primary Care, the partner clinicians and staff are not MIT Health employees, and their services are not provided by MIT Health. Learn more.
