Your student’s primary care provider is the key to a healthy school year. 

At MIT Health, we provide interpreter services for more than 150 spoken languages and American Sign Language (ASL). 

MIT SHIP will cover those  off-campus medical services anywhere in the country, but there will be some out-of-pocket costs. 

Most services at MIT Health are available to students at no extra charge.

Help your student learn to navigate the healthcare system and avoid unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.

MIT students with MIT SHIP coverage have comprehensive coverage for necessary care outside of MIT Health. Visit the MIT Student Insurance Office website for coverage information. 

Roughly 15–20 percent of MIT students visit MIT Health’s Student Mental Health & Counseling Services every school year.

Mental health services outside of MIT Health will be covered by MIT SHIP or your student’s other comprehensive health insurance plan. Visit the MIT Student Insurance Office website to learn more about mental health coverage with MIT SHIP.

With a few exceptions, we cannot share students’ medical information—including information about diagnosis or treatment—with parents.

MIT provides a number of student support services.

Our walk-in Urgent Care Service is open from 8 a.m.–8 p.m., M–F and 10 a.m.– 4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. 

Your student’s primary care provider will be the person they see for most routine care.

Our onsite X-ray and laboratory services create a seamless care experience for students who are sick or injured.

MIT Health’s Eye Care Service provides a wide range of routine and specialty eye care services.

MIT Health’s Allergy Service offers evaluation and treatment for a wide range of allergies and allergy-related asthma.
