Healthcare at MIT Health is included with tuition.
It doesn’t matter whether you waived MIT’s Student Health Insurance Plan (MIT SHIP) or have MIT SHIP coverage. Either way, you can get your care at MIT Health with no copays or unexpected bills. You don’t have to pay for the care you receive from most services at MIT Health, including:
- Urgent Care
- Primary Care
- Sports Medicine and Orthopedics
- Student Mental Health & Counseling Services
- Tests processed in MIT Health’s onsite radiology and laboratory services
- Visits to most MIT Health specialists.
The only copay students have is for acupuncture services, for which you will pay $10 per visit.
Having services at MIT Health that are included with tuition is not the same as having an insurance policy. State and federal laws require all students to have comprehensive health insurance. That’s why students are required to pay for the MIT Student Health Insurance Plan (MIT SHIP) or have another comprehensive insurance plan. To learn more about MIT SHIP, visit the MIT Student Insurance Office website.
