For students

Student Mental Health and Counseling: To speak with a clinician about feelings of stress or anxiety, contact MIT Health’s Student Mental Health & Counseling at 617-253-2916. The service provides evaluations and consultations, treatment, referrals, urgent care, counseling, and discussion groups

For faculty, staff, postdocs, and their household members

MyLife Services: MyLife Services, an employee assistance program for the MIT community, offers guidance for stress management, individual and family counseling, relationship help, and more from master’s- or PhD-level professionals, who can also provide resources or offer a referral to a mental health counselor in your area.

If you’re covered by an MIT-sponsored employee health plan, you’re eligible for the Mind and Body reimbursement benefit of up to $150 a year for meditation or breathing apps, massage, Tai Chi, Qigong (Chi Gong), and more.

MIT Health’s Behavioral Health in Primary Care is available to patients who receive their primary care at MIT Health. A referral from a Primary Care clinician is required.

Community Wellness at MIT Health can provide information and techniques to revitalize your mind and body, help you focus better, and reduce stress. We offer classes and workshops on many topics, including:

  • Mindfulness: weekly drop-in classes and ongoing courses
  • Health and Wellness Coaching: group classes and workshops
  • Tai Chi
  • Qigong
  • Yoga
  • Other stress-management techniques
