Having a baby? If you are pregnant, you may choose any obstetrician or certified nurse midwife within your Blue Cross Blue Shield network.
Finding a provider
You may choose to receive your prenatal care through MIT Health’s OB/GYN Service in Cambridge and deliver at Mount Auburn Hospital. If receiving care in Cambridge is inconvenient for you, we can recommend other providers.
Alternatively, you can use the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) website to find a specialist who participates in the network for your plan. Just select “OB/GYN” from the list of specialties. Once the site has generated a list of providers, you can click on the top, drop-down menu item on the right to sort providers by name, distance, or rating, and you can refine your results further, as needed, with additional filters.
Or, if you have already chosen the hospital at which you’d like to deliver, you might start by calling that hospital’s obstetrics department and asking for a list of their providers.
Once your baby arrives
MIT Health can provide care for your child beginning at birth. Care centers in both Cambridge and Lexington also have a certified breastfeeding counselor on staff.
