Local urgent care clinics

These local, walk-in clinics provide care for minor illnesses and injuries without an appointment. In addition, some can provide vaccines, lab tests, and even X-ray services. Some clinics do not treat children. Visit a clinic’s website or call for more information about services, hours, and insurance accepted.

Hospital emergency rooms

Hospital emergency rooms are open 24 hours a day, every day. They can handle nearly any type of urgent care illness or injury and will usually see patients of any age. In some cases, children may be sent to Boston Children’s Hospital for additional care. If the hospital does not accept your insurance, a visit to the emergency room will be much more expensive than a visit to a walk-in urgent care clinic.
