Senior Leadership

Chief Health Officer Dr. Cecilia Warpinski Stuopis ’90 joined MIT Health in December 2015. Stuopis previously served as the vice president and executive medical director for accountable care at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system in New Hampshire.

A Board-certified and practicing obstetrician-gynecologist, Stuopis earned her BS in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT in 1990 and her MD from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1996. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2000 and completed a master’s degree in healthcare delivery science at Dartmouth in 2016.

As Chief Health Officer, Stuopis provides strategic, clinical, and administrative leadership for MIT Health. She is responsible for administering and evaluating healthcare services and assuring compliance with MIT policies and federal regulatory requirements. In her role as the senior physician on campus, she advises MIT leadership on the creation and implementation of campus healthcare policies; this included her work providing clinical leadership and guidance as MIT navigated through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stuopis volunteers for MIT in several areas. She has served as an educational counselor, she is a board member for the Association of Independent Living Groups, and she has served as a class officer member of the Class of 1990 reunion gift committee. As a former MIT Varsity volleyball and softball player, she is often seen cheering on students from the stands.
