APDerm at MIT Health is a service available exclusively to MIT Health patients. Individuals covered by any MIT-sponsored health insurance plan are eligible to be seen by APDerm at MIT Health for symptomatic, acute, and chronic skin conditions.
Overview
APDerm at MIT Health treats symptomatic, acute, and chronic skin conditions.
We provide medically necessary care for skin conditions that cannot be evaluated and treated by your primary care provider. We also offer cosmetic or elective dermatology consultations and procedures, including removal of benign lesions, cosmetic injectables, skin health education, and more.
Please be aware that the charge for your APDerm visit will be the same as if you were seeing an off-campus, in-network doctor. If you are on the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), the full cost of the visit will apply until you fulfill your deductible, and you will owe a copayment for visits after your deductible is met. If you are an employee or an individual covered by a different insurance plan, check your policy to see how in-network specialty visits are charged.

Accessing your medical records
The APDerm patient portal lets you message your dermatologist, view test results, and access your health records and visit notes. To access your APDerm medical records, log into the APDerm patient portal. Records for dermatology appointments at MIT Health that occurred prior to July 21, 2025, can be found in HealthELife.
